Krytox EG 2000 are similar to aerospace-quality fluorinated grease equivalent to 240AC but without the MIL-SPEC certification, making it significantly more economical. Intended for deep vacuum applications. It is a white buttery grease that uses Krytox 2000 PTFE thickener that has a melting point of 617ºF.The base is Krytox 143 series oil a clear odorless perfluorinated polyether ( PFPE ) synthetic that is nonflammable, nontoxic and nonreactive safe in oxygen and chemical environments. Because of its exceptionally low vapor pressure, in most terrestrial applications this grease will literally never dry out.

This moist, creamy putty is easily applied from standard caulking cartridges for use from -300F to 2300F. Just apply to steel, stainless, iron, most metals, ceramics, ceramic cloth, tapes, gaskets, tadpole gaskets, etc. Air dries in 4-12 hours at room temp. (curing may be accelerated with mild heat) and is resistant to most chemicals, solvents, oxidizing and reducing atmospheres, aging, thermal cycling and electricity. Electron Microscopy Sciences Apiezon High Vacuum Grease Type L 25 GR
Grease L is a petroleum hydrocarbon grease with a very low vapor pressure (@20 degree C of 8x10-11 torr) and high vacuum grade. It contains no additives. Type L is widely used in the stationary phase of gas liquid chromatography, and may be used on all ground joints in a vacuum system (not for stopcocks).
Solubility: in Ethanol at 20 degree C-0.003%; 60 degree C-0.005%; 100 degree C-0.011%; 150 degree C-0.011%.
Grease L softens and melts at about 47 degree C and it is not recommended for joints where temperatures exceed more than 30 degree C in use. Working temperatures range is between 10-30 degree .
